Privacy and your files

Neural Novels stores your account and projects so you can return to your work. Projects are private to your account; they are not listed in a public library.

What we keep

We keep your email address, a securely hashed password, session records, project instructions, extracted source text, writing profiles, outlines, manuscript drafts and review notes. If you make a purchase, we keep payment references, order status and credit records. Stripe handles card details; our application does not store your full card number.

How your books are processed

We extract readable text from uploaded PDF, EPUB and TXT files. The original upload is removed after processing; extracted text stays with your project. Source text and project instructions are sent to OpenAI to produce the profile and manuscript. We request that generated responses are not stored as retrievable API responses; this does not mean the provider has no operational or security retention. Author and book-title research

For author-only and book-title projects, or when you enable optional research alongside uploads, we send the author name, any book titles you enter, and a request about writing craft to OpenAI’s web search tool. Your uploaded books and story brief are not included in that search request. We save the research summary and source links with your profile. When you upload books, their text remains the main evidence for the profile. Research-only projects use public sources and clearly distinguish inference from verified information; they do not access complete books from their titles.

Storage and deletion

Your project content stays in your account until you delete it or request account deletion. You may remove individual source books before payment or generation. Use Delete project in your library to remove an inactive project’s extracted source text, instructions, profile, outline, manuscript and notes from the application. Download anything you want to keep first. Processing and pending checkouts must finish before deletion.

Deleting a project is permanent in the application. It does not cancel a subscription or request a refund. Payment and usage records remain for accounting, fraud prevention and resolving payment disputes. A failed file removal is queued for retry; deleted projects are immediately inaccessible.

Restricted backups may retain earlier copies after deletion. They are used for recovery, not customer access. Backup erasure is handled through support; we do not currently promise automatic expiry on a fixed schedule. For account deletion, a backup-erasure request or other privacy questions, email anonymous5.1vrs@gmail.com from your account email. We may need to verify account ownership.

Cookies and account security

A necessary session cookie keeps you signed in for up to 30 days. The site does not use advertising cookies. Keep your password and recovery code private. A password change or successful recovery invalidates previous sessions and replaces your recovery code. We cannot recover a lost code for you.

Hosting and support

The service runs on DigitalOcean infrastructure. Authorized operators can access project data when needed to maintain the service or resolve a support request. Do not upload private information about other people unless you have permission to process it. Never send card details, passwords, API keys or recovery codes to support.
